Air System Drain Valves
Every air tank on your truck and trailer should have a drain valve installed. Vehicles with low to medium air use should have thei air tanks drained every 90 days. High air use vehicles should have the tanks drained every month. This is a good maintenance practice because it will clear the tanks of any contaminants as well as give you an indicator of problems that may be developing. Over time, you will expect your air tanks to be clear of water, oil, and other contaminants when drained. You'll pick up on these contaminants earlier with regular tank draining, so you can resolve the cause before the problem gets out of hand.
